SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Jackson County Public Library, with a grant from The Community Foundation of Jackson County, and in collaboration with the Seymour Parks and Recreation Department, has installed a Story Stroll in Shields Park, at Sixth and Broadway Streets in Seymour. The Story Stroll is located just past the fountain in the center of the park.
The Story Stroll gives adults and their children or grandchildren a chance to combine literacy skills and healthy exercise as they walk through twenty-two reading stations of stories and other information. The attraction is free and is accessible during normal park hours.
The first Story Stroll installment features The Music of the Sea written by Susanna Isern and illustrated by Marta Chicote. The book is presented in both English and Spanish. Stories will change throughout the year, so visiting the Story Stroll is encouraged all year long.
