SEYMOUR, Ind – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) has provided an update on an incident that took place earlier this week where an unconscious woman who was experiencing an overdose was abandoned.
On Thursday, after following numerous leads, detectives with SPD located the vehicle in Jennings County that had been observed on video leaving the Freeman Field Recreation Area in Seymour on Monday. Investigators obtained a Jackson Superior Court 1 search warrant for the vehicle and for a residence on County Road 650W in Jennings County for evidence related to the incident.
During the search of the residence, law enforcement allegedly located over 20 grams of fentanyl, prescription medication, an undisclosed amount of currency, and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators took Warren Scott Ross, 31, of Commiskey, into custody. Ross told investigators the victim wanted to go to the Freeman Field Recreation Area and while at the location, the victim became unresponsive. He then removed the victim from the vehicle and drove off because he panicked. The suspect was arrested for neglect of a dependent.
Officers also arrested Darrell Little, 21, of Commiskey, at the house. He was supposedly in possession of fentanyl and had an active warrant out of Jennings County.
Charges will also be filed in Jennings County for the evidence collected at the residence in Commiskey. Ross was transported to the Jackson County Jail.
