SEYMOUR, Ind. – A body was recovered from a creek in Seymour last week. On Friday, at 1:15 p.m., the Seymour Police Department (SPD) received a report of a dead person in a small creek on the east side of the Burkart Boulevard bridge, between Fourth and Tipton Streets.
When officers and investigators arrived, they observed a deceased male in the water. Investigators noted that it appeared that the body had been there for several days. The deceased was removed from the creek and taken to the morgue at Schenck Medical Center.
The identity is being withheld pending notification of the family. SPD says the cause of death is pending an autopsy.
