BARGERSVILLE, Ind. – The Bargersville Fire Department is hosting a “Hot Car” demonstration on Tuesday, June 21, at 1 p.m. You will see how quickly the inside of a car gets hot in the summertime, making it unsafe for kids and pets.
The temperature in your vehicle can rise 20 degrees within the first 10 minutes. When the thermometer outside reads 85 degrees, the temperature inside a car can climb to 104 in just 10 minutes. After 20 minutes it will reach 114 degrees, and it continues to climb.
Children overheat four times faster than adults and it can turn deadly within minutes.
The “Hot Car” demonstration is being conducted at the Bargersville Fire Department, 3991 N. State Road 135, in Franklin.
