COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Bartholomew County woman was arrested and charged after supposedly trespassing onto someone else’s property.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to the 10000 block of East County Road 450N in reference to a reported criminal trespass last Thursday at 10:20 a.m. The residence involved had a history of issues with harassment/trespassing due to a dog that is on the property.
Property owners informed deputies that a black Nissan passenger car and a female subject were seen on camera on the property near the dog pen. BCSO located the black Nissan and the female subject identified as Nena Cheap, 65, of Columbus. Cheap said she saw a Facebook post about the dog and came to check on it. She also admitted to being on the property the previous day.
Cheap was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of Criminal Trespass. She has since been released.
