COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) conducted a traffic stop on Jonathan Moore Pike at Goeller Boulevard Friday at about 12:50 a.m. that resulted in two arrests.
Deputies and K9 Jari responded and the police dog alerted to narcotics inside the vehicle. BCSO supposedly located drug-related items. As the investigation continued, law enforcement determined that a male passenger, identified as Bryan Maddin, 34, of Columbus, was allegedly in possession of a narcotic drug and a syringe.
Maddin was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of a narcotics drug, possession of a syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains incarcerated in lieu of a $67,5000 bond.
A female, identified as Melany Maddin, 34, of Ellettsville, was also arrested and booked for possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia. She remains jailed in lieu of a $60,000 bond.
