COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Bartholomew County man was busted on various drug charges over the weekend after attempting to flee law enforcement.
Connor Spachtholtz, 33, of Columbus, was arrested and charged with false identifying, dealing in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, resisting law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two outstanding arrest warrants.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) conducted a traffic stop at US 31 and Eisenhower Drive on Saturday at around 11:50 p.m. During the pullover, it was discovered that a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Spachtholtz, had two outstanding arrest warrants.
The suspect tried to flee from the vehicle on foot but was shortly apprehended by deputies. BCSO also seized prescription pills and alleged illegal narcotics from the scene.
Spachtholtz was taken to Columbus Regional Health for evaluation and then to the Bartholomew County Jail without further incident.
