COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Parks and Recreation Department released a statement on Wednesday concerning Donner Pool and its need for renovation.
It said in part, “Donner Aquatic Center is under contract to make necessary, significant repairs. As such, the pool will be closing early for the season. The last day of operation for the general public will be Sunday, July 17. We understand that the pool is a valuable asset during the warm summer months, but these repairs are necessary to ensure that we can continue operations for years to come. It is feasible for us to re-open for the 2023 season on time. The construction will not alter the physical attributes of the pool or add /take away any current amenities.”
The parks department said that 2022 Aquatics season pass holders will be notified by email about this summer’s early closure. Partial pass refunds will be issued upon request, by calling Donner Center at 812-376-2680. The refund amount is based on the usable number of days left in the season.
For questions, send an email to parks@columbus.in.gov with the subject, “pool construction” and a member of the staff will respond.
