NASHVILLE, Ind. – The Brown County Sheriff’s Office announces the implementation of “Prepared Live” in its dispatch center launching July 18. Built by the company, Prepared, the new software allows dispatchers to live stream with 9-1-1 callers, receive multimedia, and get a more accurate location from mobile callers in real-time.
The addition of this software will significantly improve the ability of first responders to react to emergencies effectively and efficiently throughout Brown County.
Participation in a video call with dispatchers is completely voluntary and consent of the caller is required. If the caller agrees, they will receive a live stream link via text message from the dispatcher, enabling them to activate live video upon clicking the link.
The video call function does NOT provide the Brown County Sheriff’s Office with access to the contents or settings of the caller’s mobile device.
