SEYMOUR, Ind. — A Jackson County man was arrested on several charges early Saturday morning after police allege he recklessly discharged his firearm. Gregory Shane Allman, 30, of Seymour, was taken into custody and booked for criminal recklessness, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
The Seymour Police Department (SPD) responded to the area of Marley Lane in reference to a projectile from a handgun found in an apartment. The complainant told officers that at around 3 a.m., they had heard yelling and a loud bang. Then, when they woke up a little after 6:30 a.m., they located a projectile on the bedroom floor of their apartment. They also said there was a hole in the closet wall. Investigators collected the .22 caliber projectile and photographed the scene.
On Monday, investigators located and arrested Allman on an initial charge of invasion of privacy. Investigators then obtained and executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on Windhorst Court in Seymour. SPD says more evidence, including ammunition and drugs, was found.
Allman was then taken to the Jackson County Jail and remanded into the custody of the jail division.
