COLUMBUS, Ind.— A Bartholomew County man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested Monday on several new charges after trying to flee from police on a moped.
Sage S. Banks, 25, was charged with resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and his Bartholomew County warrant for possession of methamphetamine.
Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers saw Banks on a moped near 25th Street and Jordan Drive, at around 5 p.m. After learning that he had an outstanding arrest warrant, they tried to stop him. He did not pull over and eluded police by cutting across parking lots, driving in the wrong lane on US 31, and disregarding traffic signals.
Banks jumped off the moped in a parking lot near US 31 and 10th Street and was apprehended by CPD after a short struggle. He was placed under arrest and transported to Bartholomew County Jail.
