INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Monday that the unemployment rates for Bartholomew and surrounding counties edged up for the month of June.
For Bartholomew County, the June rate was 2.6%, up from May’s 2.0%. DWD said the county reported 42,512 employed residents out of a 43,642-person labor force.
The Jennings County rate for June was 3.2%, compared to 2.5% the previous month. Johnson County’s June rate was 2.5%, higher than May’s 2.0%. Jackson County recorded a 2.7% June unemployment rate, compared to 2.2% for May.
Indiana state officials announced on Friday that the overall Hoosier unemployment rate for the month of June was 2.4% versus 2.2% for May.
