COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) announced on its Facebook page Tuesday that it will be utilizing a new communication tool for the 2022-2023 school year. In the past, the district has used the eAlert system but it has now changed to a new app called ParentSquare for family communications.
Families, teachers, and administrators can access ParentSquare via their website, www.parentsquare.com, or phone app. Teachers and administrators can also post using either the website or phone app.
Invitations to BCSC families are going out Wednesday. If you do not receive one by Thursday, contact your student’s home school.
BCSC said it was moving to ParentSquare for a number of reasons:
- It allows one central communication tool that includes newsletters, eAlerts, and messages.
- It allows quick translation for families on content and messages to and from parents so families and staff can be on the same page with each other.
- It lets users set notification preferences (app, phone, email, etc.) so that families can receive messages the way they prefer.
- It is simple for staff since all rosters and information are imported from PowerSchool.
- It supports safety for everyone by archiving messages to and from users.
