GREENWOOD, Ind. – Later this autumn, the City of Greenwood and its Parks and Recreation Department will open the Northeast Loop Trail, a ten-foot-wide, multi-use asphalt trail around the perimeter of Northeast Park.
“Our residents want a robust trail system,” said Mayor Mark Myers. “The Northeast Loop Trail is yet another way we are encouraging folks to get active. I am a firm believer that a healthy community is a strong community.”
The trail will be approximately 0.7 miles in length and aims to provide yet another safe public space for walkers, bicyclists, and park patrons within Greenwood. Residents and visitors will be able to walk, jog or bike along the trail this coming fall. No motorized vehicles will be permitted.
The park’s other attractions include a soccer complex, playground equipment, a basketball court, a softball diamond, and Greenwood’s only skatepark.
