EDINBURGH, Ind. – Edinburgh Fire and Rescue invites area residents to join the firefighters this Sunday in honoring the lives lost in the attacks on the country and the brave first responders on September 11, 2001.
At 8:46 a.m., at Edinburgh Fire Station #1, on Sunday, there will be a moment of silence. Then, beginning at 9:11 a.m., the firefighters will climb the steps in the Edinburgh High School Gymnasium 13 times, which is the equivalent of the height of the World Trade Center Towers.
After the remembrance ceremonies, there will be a cookout at Fire Station #1 on South Walnut Street. The public is invited to attend all three events.
