HOPE, Ind. – A suspect has been arrested after authorities say he shot and killed a Hope teenager Saturday night.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to the 300 block of Elm Street, at 9:50 p.m., after learning of a person suffering a gunshot wound.
Officers from the Hope Police Department and sheriff’s deputies arrived to find Jesse W. Bragg, 18, shot in the chest inside the home. Medical assistance was rendered but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from BCSO and the Columbus Police Department (CPD) conducted a preliminary homicide investigation, which resulted in the arrest of Joseph T. Kidwell, 18, of Fowler, for reckless homicide, a level 5 felony. The investigation is ongoing.
