COLUMBUS, Ind. – Legal Aid is holding its final free Legal Aid Phone Clinic of the year for residents of its eight-county district on Tuesday, December 13, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The district includes Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush, and Shelby Counties.
The Pro Bono Program utilizes local volunteer attorneys, offering free legal consultations to low-income individuals who might not otherwise be able to afford an attorney.
Those calling the clinic can expect to receive a brief consultation to answer general questions and offer legal information or other limited pro se advice. Residents seeking legal consultation must register by calling 812-378-0358 on Tuesday, December 13, between noon and 2 p.m. A volunteer attorney will return calls from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
After this Tuesday, the next Legal Aid Phone Clinic is on Monday, January 16.
