Primary Election Day is underway in Indiana. Voters will cast their ballots to determine which candidates will represent their parties in the November election. Check back here for the latest results on the following races of note on election night. The polls will be open today from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. A valid photo ID is required to vote. Information, polling locations, and addresses can be found at indianavoters.in.gov.
Bartholomew County
There are only two contested races in the Columbus Municipal Primary this year— the races for the Republican nomination for mayor and the Democratic nomination for Columbus City Council District 3. The winner of the Democratic nomination for City Common Council District 3 will go on to face Republican Sue Norman-Chapple in the fall. Although there isn’t a Democratic candidate for mayor, the party has until July 3 at noon to select one.

Mary Ferdon (R) 62.93% – 2533 votes
Milo Smith (R) 37.07% – 1492 votes
Columbus City Common Council District 3
Tony Hayden (D) 29.09% – 48 votes
Michael Kinder (D) 30.30% – 50 votes
Jerone B. Wood (D) 40.61% – 67 votes
