INDIANAPOLIS – State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus) greeted several local students at the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in January. Pages spend a day touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor, and interacting with their state senator.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Hoosier students visiting the Statehouse,” Walker said. “Learning about the state legislative process is important and having the chance to see it first hand, I believe, is a unique experience.”
Students, in grades 6 to 12, participate in the page program three days a week during the legislative session.
The January pages included:
- Jack Clark, from Franklin, Custer Baker Intermediate School
- Adeline Jolley, from Franklin, Greenwood Christian Academy
- Larkin Sempsrott, from Franklin, homeschooled
- Aniket Singh, from Columbus, Southside Elementary School
- Patience Steele, from Whiteland, Whiteland High School
