FRANKLIN, Ind. – Johnson County Emergency personnel were called to Hospital Rd., at the intersection of S. County Road 50E., in Franklin, after the report of a single-vehicle crash at around 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver was the only person in the car.
According to the accident report, a pickup truck, driven by Kane Grudowski, 22, of Morgantown, was going south on Hospital Road when it left the highway on the north side of the road and then came back onto the roadway. The vehicle again left the road on the south side before rolling over, with the top of the cab getting crushed by a tree.
Medical workers pronounced Grudowski dead at the scene and investigators deemed the primary factor in the crash to be a failure to maintain lane.
Hospital Road, between County Road 50E and Tracy Miles Road, was closed for a period of time for accident reconstruction and cleanup.
The Johnson County Coroner’s Office responded to make positive identification, per Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess.
