SEYMOUR, Ind. – Beginning this Monday, March 13, masks will be optional for patients and visitors at Schneck Medical Center facilities thanks to a sustained decrease in respiratory illness rates.
“Schneck’s goal is to keep our respiratory illness rates low and continue to prevent transmission,” said Natalie Wiethoff, Schneck’s Infection Preventionist.
Patients will be asked to wear a mask if they are currently experiencing or have had a fever, chills, cough, sore throat, or close contact with someone testing positive for COVID-19, influenza, or RSV in the last 48 hours. Visitors should stay home if they are experiencing any of these symptoms, or wear a mask while at Schneck facilities.
“Your confidence in our care is a priority,” stated Wiethoff. “Please ask our team members to wear a mask if this increases your comfort level at any point during your Schneck experience.”
