COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a Hope man on numerous felony charges after a stolen vehicle chase Monday night. Officers saw the alleged stolen truck traveling at a high rate of speed near Marr and Rockyford Roads at around 6:30 p.m., per CPD’s Lt. Matt Harris.
They pursued the suspect, later identified as Brian R. Sosbe, 38, as the vehicle exited the city limits. Sosbe drove across a farm field and struck a tire deflation device near the intersection of 25th Street and Talley Road, according to law enforcement. The chase ended when the suspect pulled into a parking lot in the 2800 block of 25th Street where he was taken into custody.
Sosbe was transported to Bartholomew County Jail and faces preliminary Felony charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, four counts of possession of a legend drug injection device, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property with a previous conviction, possession of a legend drug, operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, and possession of methamphetamine. He was also booked for misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, criminal mischief, and possession of marijuana.
