COLUMBUS, Ind. – CSA Lincoln Elementary School speech therapist Danielle Kirk is the recipient of the 2023 Bill and Sally Hanley Excellence in Teaching Award, the Heritage Fund announced Monday.
Established in 2000, the award recognizes outstanding elementary teachers in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. (BCSC) and comes with a $1,000 stipend.
Recipients are nominated by their principals and must demonstrate dedication to their job, exemplary initiative, and contributions to improve the school and its environment. Nominations are accompanied by letters of recommendation from the principal, fellow BCSC teachers, parents, and students.
Kirk was credited with playing an integral role in the success of many students, encouraging them and providing the tools necessary to succeed in their classrooms, social situations, and home.
“Mrs. Kirk has the perfect balance of heart, knowledge, compassion, and professionalism required to provide speech and language services to the diverse group of students at CSA Lincoln,” Principal Brett Findley wrote in his nomination.
