GREENSBURG, Ind. – The Indiana State Police (ISP)-Versailles Post on Wednesday arrested a dispatcher from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office on two felony charges related to accessing an internal law enforcement system and releasing case-sensitive information to the public.
The investigation began when Decatur County Sheriff’s Office detectives contacted ISP upon receiving information about the offense. During the inquiry, it was determined that Heidi Miracle, 42, of Holton, supposedly accessed the law enforcement system and had taken a recording of a video obtained during a criminal investigation. She then allegedly shared the video with individuals outside of law enforcement via a messaging app. Miracle also apparently posted a recording on one of her social media pages.
The suspect was charged with official misconduct and an offense against intellectual property.
Miracle was apprehended and immediately booked into the Decatur County Jail on the charges pending an initial appearance in the Decatur County Circuit Court.
