COLUMBUS, Ind. – Personnel from the Columbus Fire Department (CFD), the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department, and Columbus Township Fire and Rescue were all dispatched to the scene of a reported person in the East Fork of the White River on Friday afternoon.
Agencies deployed watercraft and searched the river banks. Firefighters also implemented the use of a drone.
After investigating the area, there was no indication of any person in the water and the report was considered to be unfounded, according to CFD.
