COLUMBUS, Ind. – A local man was busted on felony drug charges Thursday as a result of a long-term investigation by the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET).
During the course of the narcotics investigation, Christopher M. Hubbert, 43, of Columbus, was identified as a suspected retail distributor of methamphetamine. Hubbert has a previous conviction for dealing meth.
A search warrant was executed at a home in the 900 block of 13th Street by JNET, the Columbus Police Department Uniform Division, and personnel from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office. Hubbert was taken into custody without incident. Meth, operational digital scales, and packaging material were allegedly found and seized pursuant to the search warrant.
Hubbert was remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on a 48-hour hold. He is preliminarily charged with dealing in methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, as a level 2 felony; possession of meth with enhancing circumstances, as a level 4 felony; and maintaining a common nuisance.
