SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) took three people into custody for drugs over the recent three-day, Memorial Day weekend.
On Friday, May 26, officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the area of Sprenger Road. The driver, Penny Rivera, 42, of Seymour, was found to be a habitual traffic violator and was arrested for operating a vehicle while being a habitual traffic violator. The passenger, Felicea Booker, 49, of Seymour, allegedly admitted to having methamphetamine and marijuana on her, according to police. Both were taken to the Jackson County Jail.
On Monday, May 29, SPD stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Kessler Park. Officers said they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car. The driver, Brandy Mix, 47, of Scottsburg, gave permission to search the vehicle, according to law enforcement. Drug paraphernalia was supposedly located. The suspect allegedly told officers she also had meth on her. She was taken into custody was transported to Jackson County Jail.
