NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded last week to a 911 call regarding a disturbance in the area of Derbyshire Court in Country Squire Lakes, in North Vernon.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a reported battery victim and gathered more information. Shortly thereafter, a search of the area led to the arrest of Kevin Swindall. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jennings County Jail.
Swindall was asked before arrival at the jail if he had drugs or anything illegal on his person. He initially advised he did not. However, suspected methamphetamine and marijuana were allegedly located within Swindall’s anal cavity during a search, resulting in an additional charge of possession of drugs within a penal facility to go along with the charges of domestic battery, battery, strangulation, and intimidation.
The suspect was out of jail on pretrial release pending unrelated charges at the time of this arrest.
