JOHNSON COUNTY — Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation has hired Lauren Jones as its new Food Services Director after the former director’s retirement.
“I truly believe that nourishing our students is a vital part of their education and of their daily lives. No student is ready to learn if they are hungry. Our meals provide them well-balanced, nourishment to help make sure they are fueled with energy and ready to learn,” Jones said.
Jones, a registered dietitian, earned her Bachelor of Science at Bradley University and later went back for her MBA at Western Governors University. She’s also spent time in healthcare which allowed her to connect with families from a variety of backgrounds which she says helped her grow as a leader.
“Keeping our students nourished is the number one priority for our department, but if we can also give them a smile or introduce them to a new food they haven’t seen or tried before, that would be icing on the cake,” Jones said.
