SHELBY COUNTY – A 33-year-old Shelby County Jail inmate died on Monday, per Major Chris Holder of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
Law enforcement says Denim Fassold, of Shelbyville, became unresponsive in the book-in area of the jail at around 7:15 a.m.
Jail staff began life-saving procedures and Fassold was eventually taken to Major Hospital and later St. Francis Hospital, where he died, according to the sheriff’s office.
Fassold had been arrested by the Shelbyville Police Department on July 8.
