COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department arrested a local man on felony theft charges on Saturday.
Cameron Sampson, 31, allegedly stole an air conditioning unit from the Walmart at 735 Whitfield Drive and later boarded a Columbus City Bus in an attempt to get away.
Police located the bus and arrested the suspect near Indiana Avenue and Ross Street after officers supposedly found a large white box containing the stolen air conditioner on a bus seat, according to police.
Sampson was arrested, taken to the Bartholomew County Jail, and preliminarily charged with theft, a Level 6 Felony.
