FRANKLIN, Ind. –The Johnson County Recycling District and Shares, Inc. are hosting a document shredding and electronics collection event on Saturday, August 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, at 900 Arvin Rd., Suite A, in Franklin. It is free for Johnson County residents and businesses.
Documents will be collected in locked containers and shredded off-site at Shares, Inc. in Shelbyville. If bringing large quantities, have items to be shredded in a container that can be left behind (boxes preferred). Electronic recycling will also be available on this day, however, no TVs, monitors, or general recycling will be accepted.
The Johnson County Tox Box is also open on August 19 by appointment only for Johnson County residents. Visit JCRD.org to set up an appointment. The Tox Box is located at 1051 Hospital Rd., in Franklin.
The following items are accepted free of charge at the Tox Box: household cleaning supplies, yard/pool chemicals, automotive fluids, poisons, aerosol cans, adhesives, and oil-based paint/stain. Latex paint, batteries, or light bulbs are not welcome that day. No businesses, contractors, or small-quantity generators will be accepted.
