COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Community Education Coalition (CEC) is inviting the parents or caregivers of Black or Black-Biracial children to attend a discussion meeting about students and schools next week. The event is on Thursday, August 24, at Foundation For Youth, at 405 Hope Ave.
There are two meetings available: one from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and the other from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
“We’re going to listen to parent’s concerns, we’re going to share resources, we’re going to assist in supporting them in their student’s educational experiences, and we’re going to deal with equity,” said CEC Manager for Black/Biracial Youth Initiatives Felicia Garr.
Registration is available here.
It is asked to bring proof of address and any current school correspondence for student verification. Additionally, there is a $100 appreciation gift per household offered for participation.
