NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Seven-year-old Maklynn Speer of North Vernon demonstrated quick thinking and courage on June 12 when her grandmother, Mary Evelyn Speer, fell down the stairs at the Speer family residence.
Maklynn’s immediate 9-1-1 call highlights the importance of teaching children emergency procedures, according to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
