COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus man was arrested early Saturday morning for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated after he was spotted driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
An off-duty officer with the Columbus Police Department (CPD) saw a car driving the wrong way on Second Street at around 5:20 a.m. Law enforcement supposedly smelled alcohol on the breath of Alamin A. Yusuf, 26, of Columbus, after pulling him over.
The suspect allegedly failed multiple field sobriety tests at the scene and was transported to the Columbus Police Department where CPD says he provided a breath sample of .173%.
Yusuf was placed under arrest and remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated with a BAC of .15% or Greater.
