COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management (BCEM) is alerting residents that a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. on Monday until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23.
Freezing rain is expected with ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch. Besides Bartholomew. the Winter Weather Advisory includes Brown, Decatur, and Monroe Counties. Difficult travel conditions are possible that could impact the morning commute.
Freezing rain will overspread the region, from west to east, beginning late Monday afternoon and evening. The heaviest freezing rain is predicted during the overnight hours.
BCEM reminds motorists to slow down and use caution while traveling. The National Weather Service also advises you to prepare for possible power outages.
