COLUMBUS, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) relies on trained volunteers to supplement radar information during a severe storm or tornado event.
If you are interested in becoming a trained volunteer, NWS is presenting a free program next month that is open to the public. It will provide information about severe thunderstorm development and identification of important features, as well as safety tips and more.
The class is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m., in the Learning Center Auditorium, 4555 Central Ave., in Columbus. The training is at no cost to you and pre-registration is not required.
