COLUMBUS, Ind. – Mayor Mary Ferdon announced Thursday, February 29, the opening of the Employer Health Partners (EHP) Clinic at NexusPark. It will see employees of the City of Columbus, their spouses, and dependents on the city SIHO Healthcare Plan, as well as city retirees and their dependents on city insurance.
“This collaboration with Columbus Regional Health (CRH) will benefit our employees, their families, and the community and was made possible with the expanded medical office space in NexusPark,” said Mayor Ferdon.
The clinic is a wellness solution and also saves taxpayer dollars through negotiated pricing of visits, labs, and common medications. The cooperative is already in place between CRH and the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC).
Brandy Burton, a former BCSC employee married to Columbus Public Works director Bryan Burton, is looking forward to using the EHP Clinic. She said, “The BCSC Clinic offered services that you would normally get from your family doctor either the same day or the next, with no co-pay or cost.”
As a department leader who works to recruit and retain employees, Bryan Burton remarked, “This will be a great benefit to employees and attract future employees as well.” Bryan is pleased that city employees will be offered such a great benefit.
Columbus Fire Department Chief Andy Lay stated, “It’s fantastic to hear that the Columbus Fire Department has been granted access to the new EHP Clinic. Ensuring the health and safety of firefighters and their families is indeed paramount.”
