STORY, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor E&B Paving, Inc. will close State Road 135, between Mt. Nebo and Hamilton Creek Roads, on or after Thursday, March 14, to complete a small structure replacement project in southern Brown County.
The closure is located just south of Story and is expected to take up to 20 days, weather permitting. Crews will begin to place signage in the area before the start of construction.
During the S.R. 135 shutdown, motorists should use the official detour route which follows State Road 58 to State Road 46.
The project is part of a $3.7 million contract awarded in September 2022. The contract includes a total of five projects, two that were completed last year and three set for completion this year.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. Schedules are subject to change.
