COLUMBUS, Ind. – The winners of the design contest for the Mill Race Marathon and Fun Run posters were recently announced.
Event sponsors, education leaders at Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation, accomplished artists, and business leaders in the community all had a say in the winning design, and White’s design came out on top.
A junior at Columbus East High School, Elaina White, created the winning design for the marathon poster. As the marathon poster design winner, she receives a $500 scholarship, and her poster will appear in businesses and be for sale during the lead-up to the race.
The design by Emma Norton, a fifth grader at CSA Lincoln, was picked from over 100 entries as the winner of the Fun Run Art Contest. Mill Race Marathon spokesperson David said, “Norton’s design was picked based on her creativity and colors, plus it looks great on the Fun Run Shirt.”
Norton will receive a gift certificate as well as a framed Fun Run t-shirt for her artwork.
