CORTLAND, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Force Construction Company is scheduled to close a section of State Road 258 over Beatty Walker Ditch on or after Tuesday, May 28, to complete a bridge deck overlay in Jackson County. The $4.5 million contract was awarded in May 2023.
The closure will take place approximately two miles west of Cortland between North County Road 225E and North County Road 100E and is expected to take up to nine weeks to complete, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows State Road 11, to U.S. 50, to State Road 135, and back to S.R. 258.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution, and avoid distractions when near work zones.
