FRANKLIN, Ind. – The City of Franklin Fire Department (FFD) announced recently that it added two new firefighters to the team.
Luke Vanderveen joins the FFD as a native of the Franklin. He graduated from Franklin Community High School and attended Ball State University. He has two years of experience serving as a firefighter and just under a year of being an EMT. Vanderveen said he looks forward to joining the crew and the opportunity to give back to the community he grew up in.
The second new hire, Cole Rigsby, is from Indianapolis. He grew up in Franklin Township, graduated from Franklin Central High School, and attended Western Kentucky University. Cole says he was inspired by his best friend, who serves on Decatur’s Fire Department, to become a firefighter.
