COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) announced Monday the retirement of Lt. Jim Miller, a 27-year veteran firefighter. He began his CFD career in 1997.
Lt. Miller has volunteered with the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund throughout his tenure and held a Chairman position on the Cheer Fund Board for several years. He had also served as a union officer with the Columbus Professional Firefighter’s Local 2190 and was an active member of the Columbus Fire Department Color Guard.
Miller retires as the Lieutenant at Fire Station #5 on the B- Battalion. His official retirement date is June 17, 2024.
Columbus Fire Department officials expressed gratitude to Lt. Miller for his faithful years of service to the department and the community.
