BARGERSVILLE, Ind. – In November 2023, Bargersville town officials and Johnson County community leaders broke ground on the future Umbarger Plaza. The project is on target to be completed later this year.
This marked the official commencement of converting an empty downtown lot into a public greenspace to serve as a central gathering place for community events. It will feature an amphitheater and on-site restroom facilities. The Bargersville free summer concert series will move to the plaza next year.
The space, at 118 North Baldwin St., was formerly used by the Umbarger family for their feed production company.
The cost of the Umbarger Plaza project is approximately $2 million.
