FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) recently awarded the Humane Society of Johnson County (HSJC) a $250,000 Matching Grant.
The Humane Society of Johnson County plans to use the JCCF funds to open a full-service, high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Johnson County.
HSJC purchased its current facility, a 10,000-square-foot pole barn, in 2010. About 3,000 square feet of the building is being renovated to house homeless cats and dogs. Once open, it will operate three days a week.
The low-cost clinic will spay/neuter over 3,600 animals annually, ultimately preventing about 20,700 yearly births.
