BARGERSVILLE, Ind. – The Bargersville Police Department was notified of a theft in progress at the CVS Pharmacy on State Road 135 and Whiteland Road on Thursday. The suspects left the store in a van before the officers arrived.
Police located the vehicle near Smokey Row Road and tried to conduct a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the van fled east toward Whiteland and the chase was on.
A short time later, the vehicle lost control and crashed near Proctor Park. Both suspects exited on foot.
Multiple agencies set up a perimeter in the area. Due to the assistance of drone operators, K-9 Units, and the partnership of all our agencies, both were located and apprehended.
After further investigation, it was determined that these individuals were the same suspects in other Johnson County thefts over the last several days in different cities. They are believed to be possibly part of an organized theft operation.
