COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Mill Race Marathon recently recognized talented Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) student winners at the Columbus Visitors Center.
Elaina White, a Columbus East High School senior and a student in Mrs. Trisha Acton’s C4 Graphic Design course, stood out among over 100 submissions with her creative poster design. She received a $750 check for her efforts, with the poster now being seen globally as the marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
Emma Norton, a 6th grader at CSA Lincoln Elementary, created a unique design for the Kids Fun Run t-shirt while in Mrs. Delany George’s 5th-grade class. Her artwork is now featured on over 1,000 shirts, and she received a $100 Wal-Mart gift certificate.
The Mill Race Marathon has raised over $750,000 for local non-profits in the past 12 years and looks forward to soon reaching its $1 million goal.
BCSC thanks the committee and contributors, including Dave Venable, Randy Stafford, Lori Wright, and Bob Anderson of Still Frames, for their dedication to the student design presentations.
