INDIANAPOLIS — Community Health Network has earned bronze-level recognition from the American Medical Association (AMA) as a Joy in Medicine health organization.
The prestigious AMA distinction is granted to organizations that meet the rigorous criteria of the Joy in Medicine Health System Recognition Program and acknowledges the nation’s leaders in prioritizing proven efforts to enhance the well-being and professional fulfillment of physicians. The honor is valid for two years.
“Delivering exceptional care begins with nurturing the passion and purpose that brought our physicians into medicine,” said Dr. Kevin Coss, Community Health Network Chief Wellness Officer. “Supporting those who deliver care is our commitment to providing patients with a seamless, compassionate experience.”
After peaking during the COVID-19 pandemic, the physician burnout rate has dipped under 50% for the first time in four years. This is a milestone in preventing and reducing physician burnout, but continued efforts are essential to ensure doctors receive the support they need to thrive and achieve national health goals.
Community Health Network created the Center for Physician Well-Being and Development to support physicians as people while developing and empowering them to improve care processes. The goals of the Center are to reduce and alleviate the stress of practicing medicine, improve work-life balance, bring joy to the practice of medicine, and develop, coach, and mentor physicians at every stage of their careers.
