NORTH VERNON, Ind. — North Vernon Main Street (NVMS) will again host its Festival of Trees during the North Vernon Christmas in the Solar City festival this weekend, December 6 and 7, at the NVMS headquarters in downtown North Vernon.
Two years ago, wreaths were added to the event, and this year, there’s another new element for the public to enjoy.
Heartlinks ABA, A Step Ahead Pediatric Therapy, and NVMS have teamed up to offer the community a sensory-friendly space. It is open on December 7 from 2 to 6:30 p.m. You can enjoy a quiet, low-stimulation environment to relax, recharge, and enjoy the community’s celebration at your own pace.
The space will feature sections of soft lighting, comfortable seating, alternative seating, gross/fine motor play, weighted items, an opportunity for noise-canceling support, singular pod tents for those who enjoy self-regulation in solitude, and soothing sensory activities to help reduce overload and create a relaxing atmosphere for all visitors.
