COLUMBUS, Ind. – Ivy Tech Community College Columbus biology faculty members offer free monthly nature hikes for anyone interested in learning more about the natural environment around them.
The next adventure is at 10 a.m. this Saturday, December 7, at the Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill. off of Valley Branch Road, in Brown County. Ivy Tech Columbus faculty member Dr. Tom Sobat will lead the hike exploring trails within this Sycamore Land Trust property and providing information about winter bird counts.
Hikes are open to all community members. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather. Ivy Tech will have several pairs of binoculars available but encourages anyone who owns binoculars to bring them.
